Play Store Download for Nokia

Nokia was recently acquired by Microsoft and with that acquisition great features have been introduced. Many great improvements have been done to the Microsoft phones. In the past, the Nokia phones used the Nokia store. This was the treasure house for all the apps and games. However, recently Microsoft announced that the Nokia user will have to use the Opera store- the Ovi store. This upgrade will be seen in all the upcoming Microsoft smartphones including Nokia X. Play Store is designed for use by the android phones. However, you can still install the app and use it on your phone.

How to install

One thing that you ought to know is that the Play Store can only be downloaded from other sources as it is an APK file. You will thus be required to provide permission for your phone to be able to accept the download. You can install the Google Play Store through rooting. This will allow you to run apps that require system settings. You will also have the ability to flush the ROM on the phone and add extra features. You need to understand that by rooting the phone you will void your warranty. You therefore need to be careful with the process. To perform the rooting process:

  • You need to back up your device to your computer. This will help you not to lose any important data. You can also move the important files from to your SD card.
  • Enable the USB debugging. Go to the phone settings click on developer and click on debugging box.
  • Download the Farmaroot. APK on the phone or on the PC and then transfer it to your phone.
  • Open the APK file and then click on install.
  • Once the APK file has been installed, open it and click on SuperSU file then choose the Gandalf exploit.
  • You will receive a pop up message once the installation process is complete.
  • Reboot your computer and continue with the rooting process.
  • You may also un-root the device back to its normal state.

Once you have performed the rooting process, you can now download the Google Play Store.

  • You will then have to extract the files using the root explorer. To do this you will need to open the folder where you saved the APK files the click on extract all. The files will be stored on the SD card.
  • Move the files to the system apps folder on your phone for you to be able to download it.
  • Change permission on the files by opening the permission option on the menu of the apps.
  • Reboot your device.
  • You will now be able to use the Play Store.

You are required to have a Google account before you can be able to access the different apps available. You may choose to add one or create an account.
